Olson Wedding

December 13, 2009

Katie and Nevin got married at Laurelwood Golf Course in Eugene.  The fog lifted just as the bride and I arrived from the salon.  It stayed cold outside, but turned into a beautiful day for a wedding.  This was my first time photographing a wedding.  My brother was in town from Seattle so he came and helped me out with the photos.  Thanks Chris!  It was a fun wedding and I hope the bride and groom love their pictures.  Leave me some comments and tell me what you think of my first wedding.

Getting Ready

December 7, 2009

So I was invited to Utopia Salon with the bride and her girls to capture them getting ready for Kaetrin and Nevin’s wedding.  The talented Stacey did each of their hair dos and Katie’s makeup.  Here’s are few pictures from the girls getting pampered before the wedding ceremony.

Wedding post to come in the next couple days.  Check back soon.

I was so excited when Kaetrin contacted me to do her wedding photos.  We planned an engagement session right away in order to catch the good weather.  These two are so much in love and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this weekend.  Here are a few from the E-session.

Just yesterday my fellow photographer friends (Holli True & Justine Ray) and I set out to have a day of shooting just for fun.  We had originally thought it was going to rain so we brought our umbrellas prepared for a “rain shoot”.  But as it turned out we didn’t even have to use them.  We had three gorgeous young ladies to model for us.  Thanks girls for putting up with the wind and cold.  I hope you like all the pictures.  I am so excited to see what each of us captured and how different they will all be.  Here are just a few of my favorite shots.

A couple weekends ago Amy and Michelle met me out at Elijah Bristow to do a fall photo shoot with their horses.  We had beautiful weather for it.  Fall is my favorite season and we have just a short window to take advantage of all the color before the rain sets in.

Crater Lake

September 27, 2009

My family and I ventured out to Crater Lake last weekend.  It was a perfect day there.  The weather was mild and the sun came out in spurts.  I don’ t remember the last time I visited there.  I must have been about 5, so it was all new to me.  The water was so blue and pretty.  I was so happy I was able to capture one of the little chipmunks on camera.  Enjoy!

What I’ve been up to

September 25, 2009

I haven’t posted on my blog for quite some time, so I thought I’d let you know what I’ve been up to.  This summer has been pretty busy.  A lot of my weekends were consumed by scouting, camping and getting ready for my antelope hunt.  I’ve waited 14 years to get this tag and this year was my lucky one.  I finally drew a pronghorn tag in Eastern Oregon.  So my husband and I made many trips over the mountain to find the animals.  Here are a few photographs I was able to capture during some of our trips.  Along with a picture of me and my antelope.  IMG_0688proof

Wild Horses

June 2, 2009

Over the Memorial Weekend I set out to find some wild horses in the Ochoco Mtns. to photograph.  My goal was to find a herd of mares with foals.  Quite a few years ago my sister and I went to this same area and could only find a small band of young stallions.  They were quite skittish.  So I was so happy when we stumbled across this herd of about 15 horses.  There was an old beat-up stallion that was trying to protect his herd from a younger one.  (You can see his wounds)  It was pretty awesome to watch.  At one point they got a little too close to me for comfort so I  waved them off and that was pretty much the end of my photos too.  Next up… The Steens Mtns.

You know I thought for sure I would fall in love with one of the babies and want to stick it in the back of the truck to take home, but it was definitely the  young bay stallion that captured my eye.  He was gorgeous!

Kelly & Nick part 2

May 17, 2009

As well as graduating from the U of O, these two are also engaged to be married.  We used this opportunity to shoot their engagement photos also.  They are such a cute couple and a lot of fun.  I love it when people aren’t afraid to show their personality in their pictures.  These are just a few of my favorite shots.  It was hard to pick.

Nick and Kelly are both graduating from the University of Oregon and asked me to take some pictures of them on campus.  There are so many pretty places on campus the options are endless.  Here are a few shots we took.  I hope you guys like them.
